California police are required to lock their guns in their car

According to the article from the Washington Times, Governor Jerry Brown of California signed a bill saying that gun owners and policemen have to lock up their guns in their car if they leave the vehicle  unattended. Starting on January 1st that police and gun owners lock their gun in the trunk or in a container out of plan sight. If they fail to do this they will be fined $1,000.00. This bill is in place because a gun stolen from a police officer was used in the San Francisco killing of 32-year- old Kate Steinle and 27-year- old Antonio Ramos.

Republicans are Gaining in Registered voters

According to an article from the New York Times, Republicans are gaining in the polls in several swing states. There are still more registered democrat voters, but the margin between republican and democrat registered voters are less than it was in 2012. According to this article the Clinton campaign is very invested in florida, by spending tons of money in television ads, more than Trump is. The amount of registered voters may not even matter, this election cycle, because in North Carolina there is about the same number of registered voters with no party affiliation as a many registered Republican voters. This same type of situation is also happening in other states as well. 

Cruz Endorsed Trump

The article from CNN Politics says, Ted Cruz endorsed Trump Friday afternoon. It was actually very surprising since there had been a lot of personal attacks at the Republican National Convention. Trump's vice president nominee, Mike Pence, had been talking to Cruz by messages and over the phone. Mike Pence played a very important role in Cruz's decision to vote for Donald Trump. By Ted Cruz endorsing Trump will help Trump get more of the conservative party to vote for him on election day.

CBSN and Instagram Partnering

CBSN and Instagram are now partnering for the presidential debates. CBS News is going to be streaming 24/7 stories about the presidential debates to Instagram's new stories. CBSN is the first network to have live coverage on Instagram stories. The network will be offering full coverage of the debate before and after the debate starts. The Instagram stories will be created by CBS anchors and CBS news correspondents and contributors. The streaming service has set the two week viewership for its coverage of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

President Obama vetoes a bill regarding 9/11 Families to sue Saudi Arabia

According to the article from CBS News, Obama vetoes a bill about allowing 9/11 families to be able to sue Saudi Arabia's government. President Obama returned the bill to Congress with a letter saying that it might expose America to more law suits from individuals in different countries. Also, the bill, would not protect the U.S. from other attacks. The article states that this is Obama's 12th veto and the Congress has been unsuccessful in override five of them. President Obama and former President George W. Bush are tied with the fewest votes since Warren Harding who had six votes during his short presidency.

Climate Change puts U.S. at Risk

An article from the Huffington Post says, that effects of climate change increases the danger of international conflict and endangers the U.S. military operations. Military officials are not taking the climate change seriously. Climate change and not taking care of the environment will effect the human race. This is a big question for the next president and what they will do about. Hilary Clinton states that she wants to shift the country to 50 percent clean energy by 2030 and put regulation on fracking. While, Donald Trump global warming is more of a concept than and actual threat, so the Chinese can try to hurt U.S. business.

State Democrats being Hacked

According from a article from Politico, State Democrats are getting hacked. The hackers are targeting Democratic officials and some have been impersonating them. Association of State Democratic Chairs sent an email message saying that a number of members of the democratic party have been hacked and impersonated and to try to avoid Wikileaks, this anti-secrecy site. Apparently had posted leaked material from the Democratic National Committee.

Colin Kaepernick and His Political Opinions and Statements

According to the Washington Post article, Colin Kaepernick remained seated during the national anthem at the 49ers football game. He is known for being less media seeking player. He remained seated during the national anthem in a form of protest against police misconduct and for the black lives matter protest. "I'll continue to stand with the people who are being oppressed. To me, this is something that has to change, and when there's significant change- and I feel like that flag represents what it's suppose to represent, and this country is representing people the way it's supposed to- I'll stand." This quote is from Colin Kaepernick saying to a report. It shows he just want to see change happen within America and he is participating in politics and good a calm orderly way he is bring attention to his issue and is stirring up talk and change.

15th Anniversary of 9/11

Yesterday, families, friends, and others went to lower Manhattan to read the names of the victims of 9/11. Both Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton attend the ceremony. Both candidates decided not to campaign while there. Hilary Clinton left early because she got overheated. By her not feeling well has started an uproar by people wondering about her health. President Obama said a few remarks at the Pentagon for the people that lost their lives and their families. President Obama wants America to know that its important to defend our territory but also America's ideals.

The Zika Virus fails to get Funding

According to the NBC News article, Congress has still has not gotten anything accomplished, regarding the bill that would pay for a federal Zika response. Back in February, President Obama requested 1.9 billion dollars in emergency funding to help fight the virus, but, according to NBC, Republican Dominated Congress stalled. More cases of the Zika virus is appearing in Florida. Health officials are telling people to empty out their water after they are done because misquotes can bred in just a few drops of water.

The Supreme Court will not Change the Strict North Carolina Voting Law

The past Wednesday, the Supreme Court decline to reinstate North Carolina voting retractions for the upcoming November Election, according to the article from NBC News. Many democrats and voting rights activist are putting pressure on the state GOP , about this issue. The state are holding county election boards to try to offer as little of early voting hours as possible and so Sunday voting is not offered. The Republicans, in North Carolina, are still trying to find ways to restrict voting.

Registered Republican are gaining in Swing States

According to the article in the New York Times, In many of the swing states there has been an increase of more republican voters than from the data in 2012. Registered democrats still have a lead on registered republicans, but the total number of registered republicans, in swing states, are growing. In Florida some of the democrats are switching their registration to republican now according to Karen Giorno, Donald Trumps campaign manger for Florida.
